Luke Legendre

Piano, Piano Playtime Instructor

Luke Legendre is a collaborative pianist, piano teacher, and performing arts director based in Denver, Colorado. Originally from South Louisiana, he has built a multifaceted career centered on collaborative performance, education, and inclusive arts leadership. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is a certified Piano Technician. In 2024, he was awarded 2nd Place in the Frank Hanley Piano Competition.

As a collaborative pianist, Luke has performed extensively with choirs, operas, musicals, vocalists, and instrumentalists. He is known for his musical sensitivity, attention to detail, and ability to support and elevate the performers he works with. 

In addition, Luke has served as  director and pianist for theatre productions. One of his most impactful projects involved directing a bilingual production featuring both Deaf and hearing students. This production layered spoken English, American Sign Language, and visual storytelling. It exemplifies Luke’s passion for inclusive, collaborative artistry that speaks across communities and languages.

As a piano teacher, Luke brings more than seven years of experience working with students of all ages and skill levels. With a strong foundation in pedagogy, he offers lessons that are structured, creative, and responsive to the individual needs of each student. His teaching integrates technique, sight reading, ear training, improvisation, and ensemble. He is especially committed to supporting neurodivergent learners. 

Luke is a member of the National Association of Music Teachers (MTNA), International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society (IKCAS), National Federation of Music Clubs (NFCM), & National Teachers of Singing (NATS) and can offer students unique experiences such as performance opportunities, competitions, festivals, and masterclasses.

Luke is currently pursuing graduate studies in Piano Performance at the University of Denver. All of his work is rooted in the belief that music is a powerful tool for connection, growth, and visibility, and he strives to create spaces where every student and collaborator feels seen, heard, and inspired.
