Zina Sonkina

My name is Zina Sonkina, and I’m a piano teacher with more than 40 years of experience teaching piano, music theory, harmony, solfege, music literature, playing by hearing to students of all ages and skill levels.

My piano lessons emphasize musicality from the very beginning, helping students develop a beautiful tone, expressive phrasing, rhythmic sensitivity, and confident performance skills, alongside solid technique.

Whether you’re just starting out, picking it back up, or looking to strengthen your technique and theory, lessons are tailored to your goals and interests in a supportive, engaging environment. Together, we will build not just technical ability, but the skills to make a music come alive. I offer private lessons tailored to each student’s pace, interests, and abilities.
