Nick Valdez
Nick Valdez is a musician with over 20 years of playing experience. A guitarist at heart, Nick gained his Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Metropolitan University of Denver in 2014. During his college career, he gained a love for piano and became a self-proclaimed multi-instrumentalist. After college, Nick has taught both guitar and piano for 7 years. In the last year, he’s begun his journey working with toddler-preschool-age children. A new passion for watching these young minds learn and grow develops. He strives to learn and grow with them, all the while having a blast doing it!
Leung manages a private studio teaching clarinet, saxophone, flute, and piano. He is one of the clarinet instructors at the University of Colorado Boulder. He was part of the Teaching Artist residency at the Aspen Music Festival and School from 2018 to 2020. He was also the woodwind mentor and one of the chamber music coaches at the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestra. He has been teaching for more than ten years and has taught a wide range of students from 5 to 60 years old.
Aside from his musical journey, Leung loves traveling – camping in the mountains during the summer and skiing during the winter season. In addition, he has visited more than 30 National Parks around the country. As a dog lover, people often called him a “dog whisperer”.
