Violin, Viola, Piano, Piano Playtime

Jessica is a performer and educator from Chicago, IL, and always had dreams of becoming a musician. She started piano lessons at age 5, began viola in fourth grade, and sang in choir from elementary through high school. Jessica currently freelances and teaches in the Denver/Boulder communities.

Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in 2013 from Northern Illinois University, where she studied with Tony Devroye. She began her freelance career and managed a private studio in the Chicagoland area before moving to Colorado in 2018. Jessica completed her Master of Music in viola performance at the University of Colorado Boulder, under Erika Eckert and Geraldine Walther.

Jessica is also a registered Suzuki Teacher for violin, for which she studied with Ann Montzka Smelser. She received part of her training at Northern Illinois University, as well as attending summer programs at the University of Wisconsin at Steven’s Point.

Jessica loves performing in orchestras and chamber music ensembles. Although mainly a classical musician, she also performs modern rock music in a band. Aside from music, Jessica loves the outdoors, cooking, and her 15-year-old cat, Sydney.
